System Requirements
In order to make maximum use of our Room thermostat, please ensure that your system meets these requirements.
Your central heating system currently has a room thermostat (usually found in your hallway or lounge) and that it is a wired unit, rather than a wireless or RF system. If you do not have a thermostat, or it is wireless, then you will need to run a cable from your boiler to where you want your room thermostat located.
This room thermostat is compatible with virtually every type of central heating system.
Ideally, to work correctly, your system should have independent central heating and hot water controls. If you can switch your central heating on without switching on your hot water then you have independent controls.

A programmable room thermostat is both a programmer and a room thermostat. A programmer allows you to set ‘On’ and ‘Off’ time periods for your boiler to suit your own lifestyle.
A room thermostat works by sensing the air temperature, switching on the heating when the air temperature falls below the thermostat setting, and switching it off once this set temperature has been reached. So, a programmable room thermostat lets you choose what times you want the heating to be on, and what temperature it should reach while it is on. It will allow you to select different temperatures in your home at different times of the day (and days of the week) to meet your particular needs. Turning a programmable room thermostat to a higher setting will not make the room heat up any faster.
